The following is a brief mindful listening meditation. This was recorded at Barton Falls in Austin, TX while I was on a hike with my sister! The goal of this meditation is to allow your attention to tune-into the sounds you are hearing. You might notice some sounds that come and go, and others that are constant. The objective here is to allow your attention to rest on the sounds - not to name what you're hearing, but to simply notice the sounds. As with all mindfulness meditations, the moment you notice your mind wandering off to your "to-do lists" today, mentally acknowledge that your mind has wandered and bring your focus / attention back to the sounds in this meditation.
